Electrical Testing and Inspection
![]() |
The team here at Green Light are experts in electrical testing in both domestic and commercial property - to ensure that the fixed wiring is in good working and safe order. With the introduction of Part P in 2005 and the 17th edition in 2008 there are many new rules and regulations to abide by to increase the safety of electricity in the home and workplace. An up to date electrical installation certificate will, naturally, offer you peace of mind. |
Our fully qualified electricians carry out a wide range of electrical testing services – as you can see below. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information, or if you are interested in our electrical testing services, we’d be happy to advise you.
All of our testing is carried out in accordance with the 17th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations, BS7671.
Electrical Testing: Periodic Inspection Report
A periodic inspection will test the state of the electrical wiring, and the safety of an electrical installation. It will test, for example, if there any equipment is overloaded, or if there are any potential electrical shock risks in the installation. In commercial buildings, a periodic inspection report should be carried out every 5 years.
At a convenient time for you, one of our fully qualified engineers will carry out the inspection to carry out testing to the highest standards. Not only will we be able to offer you a NICEIC certificate, but also advice for the frequency and extent of future tests, recommendations for any remedial measures required – but above all, peace of mind.
This testing can be carried out in either your home or business premises. The Periodic Inspection Report is also known as a Landlord Safety Certificate or a PIR.
Electrical Testing: Landlords Certificate
The Landlords certificate is a Periodic Inspection that checks the electrical safety of a property. Following the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, landlords are obliged to “keep in repair and proper working order” the installations for the water, gas and electricity supplies.
The electrical testing will be carried out by one of our fully qualified engineers, at a time convenient for you. We will then provide you with an NICEIC certificate – and, if needed, recommendation sheets for any test failures.
Electrical Testing: Homebuyers Certificate
The homebuyers or pre-purchase electrical testing is also a Periodic Inspection. It gives you the peace of mind that the property you are purchasing is electrically sound – similar to a general survey, but in more detail of the electrical system.
As always, the testing is carried out by one of our qualified engineers at your convenience, with an NICEIC certificate, and if necessary, a recommendation sheet with the suggested corrections for any items that failed the testing.
